QMJHL Roundup: Vincent Lanoue scores OT winner, Tigres hold off Wildcats

MONCTON, N.B. - Vincent Lanoue scored 2:45 into overtime as the Victoriaville Tigres held off the Moncton Wildcats 5-4 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Pascal Laberge had a goal and three assists while Bradley Lalonde scored once and added two helpers for the Tigres (24-19-7). Maxime Comtois and Alexandre Goulet rounded out the attack.

Stephen Johnson, Vaclav Karabacek, Joey Richard and Kevin Klima supplied the offence for Moncton (30-15-8).

James Povall made 35 saves for the win in net as Blade Mann-Dixon kicked out 28-of-33 shots in defeat.

Victoriaville scored three times on five power plays while the Wildcats were 1 for 5.

ISLANDERS 7 SCREAMING EAGLES 6 (OT)

SYDNEY, N.S. — Oliver Cooper scored twice — including the winner — and added an assist as Charlottetown edged the Screaming Eagles.

Filip Chlapik matched Cooper's scoring night and forced extra time at 16:48 of the third period for the Islanders (22-23-7). Dexter Weber, Jake Coughler and Nicolas Leblond had the others, with Daniel Sprong tacking on four helpers.

Giovanni Fiore had two goals and an assist for Cape Breton (25-22-6). Jordan Ty Fournier, Maxim Lazarev, Massimo Carozza and Evgeny Svechnikov also chipped in.

FOREURS 4 REMPARTS 1

QUEBEC CITY — Alexis Pepin and Jan Mandat had a goal and an assist each as Val-d'Or got past the Remparts.

Anthony Beauregard and Shawn Ouellette-St-Amant added the others for the Foreurs (39-9-3).

Auguste Impose scored on the power play for Quebec (24-22-5).

GATINEAU, Que. — Alex Dostie and Nicolas Meloche scored in the second period as the Olympiques beat Drummondville.

Yakov Trenin added an empty netter for Gatineau (34-15-3) in the third.

Mathieu Sevigny found the back of the net for the Voltigeurs (23-27-2).

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Francis Perron scored twice and Timo Meier added a goal and two assists as Rouyn-Noranda downed the Sagueneens.

Anthony-John Greer and Peter Abbandonato had the others for the Huskies (39-8-4).

Jonathan Bourcier scored the only goal for Chicoutimi (23-20-8).

OCEANIC 3 ARMADA 1

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Charle-Edouard D'Astous scored the eventual winner late in the first period as Rimouski toppled the Armada.

Dylan Montcalm opened the scoring on the power play in the first before Samuel Beck added an empty netter in the third for the Oceanic (28-17-5).

Brendan Hamelin had a power-play goal in the second for Blainville-Boisbriand (19-24-7).
