After the 53rd game of the 2017 IIHF WM the total number of attendants exceeded in comparison with 2010. For the final round there are still tickets available.

The results of groups A and B in the preliminary round of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Cologne have brought up the following quarter-final constellations for Thursday, May 18:

Cologne – LANXESS arena

  • Quarter-final 1 at 16:15: USA-Finland – Still 8,300 tickets available
  • Quarter-final 3 at 20:15: Canada-Germany – Still 7,200 tickets available


Paris – AccorHotels Arena

  • Quarter-final 2 at 16:15: Russia-Czech Republic – Still 6,400 tickets available
  • Quarter-final 4 at 20:15: Switzerland-Sweden – Still 5,400 tickets available

 
A good number of tickets are also still available for both semi-finals on 20 May as well as for the Bronze- and Gold Medal Game on 21 May (all games in Cologne).

With game 53 Russia vs. USA (3-5) of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, the total attendance number of the 2010 IIHF Worlds in Germany could already be surpassed even before the end of the preliminary round. In 2010, a total of 548,768 spectators came to see the 56 games in Gelsenkirchen (Schalke football stadium), Cologne and Mannheim. At this year's 2017 IIHF Worlds, already 584,827 people followed the 56 preliminary round games. Cologne registered 375,497 spectators so far. The attendance in Paris significantly surpassed the barrier of 200,000 spectators with actually 209,330 game visitors by now.
